Cable Locator/Splicer

Location: 

Gilmer, TX

Position Summary:

The Cable Locator/Splicer is responsible for the location, splicing, repair, upgrade and maintenance of copper and fiber optic cable in accordance with the regulations of the Cooperative, RUS, and PUC while observing all applicable safety policies, regulations and laws.  Completion of these responsibilities has impact on service provision timelines and quality of service for customers.

Experience: 

• Prefer 2-3 years of related experience. 

Education:  

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Prefer vocational degree or military equivalent. Requires ability to read, write, perform basic math, and understand maps and instructions. Basic knowledge of electricity required.

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s Class - C driver's license. 

Safety Requirements:

• Must comply with all company policies, regulations, traffic laws, safety rules, and safe practices when driving a Cooperative vehicle and be properly licensed to operate said vehicle.  Must also attend any safety training as directed and observe safety policies, rules, regulations and laws in the performance of duties.
