Job DescriptionJob Description

The Recoupment Specialist is responsible for managing overpayment recovery efforts, negotiating repayment plans, and ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the recovery of overpayments from insurance companies and patients.

- Negotiate repayment plans and settlements.

- Conduct regular audits to identify overpayments and discrepancies.

- Maintain detailed records of recoupment activities and outcomes.

- Collaborate with billing and finance departments to ensure accurate accounting.

- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and providers regarding overpayment recovery.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.

- Identify and implement improvements to the recoupment process.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field.

- 3+ years of experience in recoupment or medical billing.

- Strong understanding of insurance policies, guidelines, and regulations.

- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.

- Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Strong communication and organizational skills.

- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently
