Sure Cast Aluminum Foundry is a growing leader in the manufacturing sector, and we're seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Technician/Mechanic to join our team in Blaine, Minnesota. In this role, you’ll work independently to conduct preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks, ensuring that all production and facility equipment operates at peak efficiency. You’ll also troubleshoot problems, perform necessary repairs, and contribute to the ongoing success of our company’s objectives.

- Diagnose and resolve equipment issues, including aluminum melting furnaces, casting machines, and associated systems.
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on machinery, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
- Replace or repair faulty machine components, with a focus on crucial equipment such as molding machines and sand distribution systems.
- Regularly inspect and service foundry-specific equipment, including furnaces, heat treat ovens, and casting molds.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to prioritize and complete critical tasks on time.
- Respond quickly to emergency situations or breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
- Weld aluminum parts or demonstrate a willingness to learn aluminum welding techniques.
- Assist in implementing and executing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles to improve equipment reliability and productivity.
- Manage the procurement of parts, tools, and equipment in coordination with the Production Manager.
- Solid understanding of fluid mechanics, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and associated components like valves, pumps, and compressors.
- Familiarity with aluminum melting furnaces (gas and electric), heat treat ovens, and aging ovens, or a strong willingness to learn.
- Basic electrical knowledge is essential.
- Experience with automatic green sand distribution systems and automatic molding machines is an advantage.
- Flexibility to work overtime, nights, and weekends as needed. Regular shift is Monday to Thursday, 5 am to 3:30 pm.
