Surgical Services - Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

Location:- Medford, OR, 97504

Duration:- 13 Weeks

Shift:- Day 4x10-Hour (06:00 - 16:00)

Pay rate:- $60- $65/hr W2.

Responsibilities of Surgical Services - Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

  • Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are sterile and readily available.
  • Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and anticipating their needs.
  • Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
  • Assist with patient positioning and draping to ensure optimal exposure for the surgical team.
  • Handle specimens obtained during surgery, labeling and transporting them to the laboratory as required.
  • Operate surgical equipment and machinery safely and effectively, including but not limited to suction devices, electrosurgical units, and sterilizers.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain a safe and efficient operating room environment, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Assist with patient transfer to and from the operating room, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Participate in the cleaning, disinfection, and restocking of operating rooms following surgical procedures.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines, including those related to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Requirements for Surgical Services - Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited surgical technology program preferred.
  • Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Operating Room Technician (CORT) required.
  • Prior experience working as a surgical technician in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment.
  • Ability to maintain composure and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with members of the surgical team.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for extended periods, lift and move heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient care and safety.
