REPORT TO: Senior Machining Engineer

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:

This position is primarily responsible for manufacturing and modification of mold parts in specification, Mold assembly/disassembly and mold handling for our work orders, performing the following duties personally for customer satisfaction and teamwork.

This position is also responsible for machines/equipment maintenance and organizing molds and stock parts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned at the Company's sole discretion from time to time.

Complies with company's policies and procedures.

Incorporates values (customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and discipline and vitality) into your work and in your team's work.

Programming for CNC Machines

Edit NC Program for CNC Machines on the machine controller.

CNC and Manual Machine Operation

Operate CNC and manual machines for molds parts and machine parts.

Mold Assembly

Assemble molds for onsite trial and for customer request.

Mold Polishing

Polish mold parts to polishing standards.

Mold Modification

Mold modification on CNC and manual machines.

Others

  • Timely response to top executives and any stakeholders request and inquiry.
  • Raw material handling.
  • Generate documents using Microsoft software and Adobe software.
  • Follow/execute production department road map.
  • Execute maintenance of CNC machines and equipment.
  • Housekeeping to maintain the work area hazard free, clean, neat and orderly.
COMPETENCIES:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Understanding machining, blueprints, materials, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Plans accordingly with supervisor to assure that the mold assembly is completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available.
  • Operate CNC machines, Manual machines per supervisor discretion. Setting zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches, calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
  • Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collects, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work-pieces; adhering to international standards.
  • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Maintain the machines and equipment for a safe environment. Clean and organize machine shop for housekeeping.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED; or one to two years related mechanical experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.; or equivalent combination of education and experience with mold manufacturing.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

MECANICAL SKILLS:

The individual should have knowledge of Hand tools, Measuring equipment, Cutting tools and Assembly/Disassembly of mechanical parts.
