Vet Technician

The Village Vet at Sterling Ridge is seeking an experienced veterinary technician to join our team. We are nestled in the beautiful Woodlands area and have served our community for over 20 years. We are a 6 doctor practice that treats small animal and exotic pets. Our mission is to provide the highest quality, compassionate veterinary care to our clients and their companion animals. We strive to provide the highest quality of care in the Veterinary industry, continuing to grow and thrive. We provide individual & personal attention to all of our clients and their companion pets' at every visit.

Our technicians work closely with the veterinarians to ensure excellent patient care. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a strong work ethic as we are a highly sought after practice so you must be able to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do:

• Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and IV catheter placement
• Obtain laboratory sample collection, process, and possibly interpret results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears)
• Take digital radiographs and digital dental x-rays
• Surgery Assistance includes experience in handling anesthesia and patient monitoring.
• Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
• Ability to effectively communicate and educate clients
• Use of computerized medical records and invoicing
• Areas of small animal practice include wellness, comprehensive, and surgery appointments.

Qualifications:

• Veterinary Technician experience 3+ REQUIRED
• Motivated to maintain our standards of excellent client services and high-quality patient care
• Team player with exceptional client service and communication skills, attention to detail with a positive and compassionate attitude
