Job DescriptionWe are looking for a talented and driven Food Scientist with expertise in emulsion and nanoparticle formulation with cannabinoid formulation experience preferred. The ideal candidate will be responsible for contributing to the development of cutting-edge food and beverage products, enhancing existing solutions, and pioneering new innovations to keep Flowe at the forefront of cannabinoid formulation science.
Responsibilities

  • Product Development: Lead the development and formulation of new cannabinoid-infused food and beverage products from conceptualization to market launch, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Research and Innovation: Conduct research on new ingredients, technologies, and methodologies to improve product formulations, enhance flavor, texture, and stability, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise in emulsion and nanoparticlization processes, optimizing product formulations for consistency, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Existing Formulations: Work with and improve existing formulations for products currently being sold to customers, ensuring they continue to meet high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Data Analysis: Record, analyze, and summarize research data, utilizing data science techniques to inform product development and improvement.
  • Quality Assurance: Coordinate independent laboratory testing to verify product quality and compliance with safety regulations, and ensure adherence to Flowe's quality standards.
  • Documentation: Update product information sheets, create accurate food labels, and prepare detailed technical documentation for internal and external use.
  • Sample Management: Arrange and ship sales samples to clients and partners, ensuring timely delivery and accurate representation of product quality.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and production, to align product development with market needs and business goals.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Compliance: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and advancements in food science to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel overnight and work night and weekend shifts for special projects and industry events.

Requirements and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven work experience as a Food Scientist, Particle Engineer, Emulsion Scientist, or a similar role, with a focus on cannabinoid emulsion and nanoparticlization preferred but not required.
  • Technical Skills: Strong laboratory skills and familiarity with emulsion technology, nanoparticlization techniques, and food formulation processes.
  • Data Science: Knowledge and understanding of data science applications in food science, including statistical analysis and data interpretation.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a creative approach to developing innovative solutions.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications: Relevant training and/or certifications as a Food Scientist or in related fields are preferred.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, demonstrating leadership and mentorship capabilities.
