TITLE: Secondary Athletics Specialist

REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics, Impact Center Director

HOURS OF OPERATION: Monday-Friday; 1:30-6:30pm, Summer; TBD, Weekends; as needed

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

assures success is within reach of every young person we serve, on track to graduate high school

and with a plan for the future. The mission of BGCDT is to enable our kids to reach their full

potential as productive, caring, responsible adults. Our Board of Directors has further directed

our team to ensure that our Club alumni become distinguished in the community as readily

employable and prepared for success in life. To meet these goals, our programs need to provide

enrichment activities and support beyond what is offered by our school system and our families.

Our call to action is to deliver programs that go above and beyond for our members. Offering

the minimum or accepting the status quo is not good enough for them.

The Secondary Athletics Specialist is responsible for planning, delivering, and overseeing fun,

meaningful and compelling program experiences for middle school and high school-aged club

members. Program experiences should include engaging sport/athletic activities, focusing on

skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This position works closely with the Director

of Athletics and the Impact Center Director to facilitate high-quality programming.


KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

? Understand and support BGCDT mission and goals and create strategic Athletic program

plans for sites to help achieve those goals.

? Plan, prepare, and facilitate assigned daily member experiences that are applicable to

the objectives needing to be achieved.

? Provide hands-on coaching and instruction in various sports/athletics, ensuring that

members receive proper guidance and support to improve their skills and reach their full

potential.

? Develop and implement a sports/athletics curriculum tailored to the developmental

needs of secondary aged members.


? Foster a positive and inclusive environment where all participants feel valued and

supported, promoting teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship among members.

? Provide feedback and evaluation of experiences continually and ensure

programs/activities respond to member needs.

? Ensure that all sports activities comply with safety guidelines and regulations. Implement

proper equipment usage, injury prevention protocols, and emergency procedures as

necessary.

? Document reporting data, including attendance and program participation on a daily

basis.

? Establish clear, achievable yearly program goals and actively work towards their

successful completion.



Requirements:

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

? Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.

? Strong technical skills including computer, phone, printer, and other electronic devices.

? Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

? Strong team building skills to promote a positive Club and work environment.

? Ability to work with a variety of people with various backgrounds and skill sets.

? Strong knowledge and proficiency in a variety of sports.

? Demonstrated leadership skills.
