JOB SUMMARY

The Family Support Specialist is primarily responsible for the SafeCare Home Visiting Program.

This position will also offer supportive services and participate in department assessments of community needs; developing programs to teach people about healthy life choices and how to avoid unhealthy habits; and connecting people to the health services and educational materials they need. The Family Support Specialist will help to identify specific and general health issues that affect the population, formulate outreach, education, and prevention programs that can reach a wide range of the public.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Provides day-to-day management of the SafeCare program.
  • Serves as one of the primary agency contacts to The Colorado Department of Early Childhood, program contract holder and Kempe Center intermediary staff.
  • Establish ongoing relationships with community agencies that serve clients who may benefit from SafeCare Colorado.
  • Regularly track outreach efforts within SafeCare Colorado database.
  • Identifies areas of improvement and potential solutions (e.g. process changes) to strengthen the SafeCare program, increase efficiency, better use technology, improve employee morale.
  • Ensure that all data is entered into Salesforce and to make improvements to the database as needed to better track program outcomes.
  • Implements SafeCare program with families in their homes adhering to SafeCare® module protocol to meet fidelity.
  • Participate in community assessment and program planning outside of the SafeCare program.
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of reports, activity documentation and related correspondence for official use and for public information..
  • Attend training opportunities as approved by supervisor to attain competencies necessary to effectively conduct assigned duties.
  • Participate in agency emergency planning and response activities.
  • Drive and maintain the ability to operate a motor vehicle as required in the provision of assigned duties.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the level of required knowledge and abilities will be considered.

  • High school diploma.
  • Desire to work with families and children in our community.
  • Valid state issued Driver's License.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in early childhood or closely related field.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
