Maintenance Planner Job description

Overview: We are seeking a meticulous Maintenance Planner to join our team. As a Maintenance Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities by efficiently scheduling and coordinating maintenance activities. You will work closely with various production and warehouse teams to develop and implement maintenance plans that optimize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and enhance overall operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain comprehensive maintenance schedules for equipment and facilities.
  2. Collaborate with maintenance technicians, engineers, and production teams to prioritize maintenance activities based on urgency and resource availability.
  3. Coordinate the procurement for all operations departments and inventory management to ensure timely availability of spare parts and consumables.
  4. Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
  5. Analyze historical maintenance data to forecast future maintenance needs and develop long-term maintenance strategies.
  6. Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement in maintenance processes.
  7. Utilize MMS system to manage, enter, and track work orders, maintenance history, and equipment documentation.
  8. Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential issues and proactively address them.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers for specialized maintenance tasks.
  10. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all maintenance activities.
  11. Ensure compliance to the set budgetary parameters for all departments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   1. High School or GED required. Further education in a maintenance-related field or 3 to 5 years equivalent experience (preferred).
  2. Proven experience in scheduling, planning and ordering, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  3. Proficiency in using CMMS software and other relevant computer applications.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across teams.
  6. Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  7. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to maintenance operations.
  8. Certification in maintenance planning or related fields (e.g., Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) is a plus.
