Position Description

Procurement Specialist I

Position: Procurement Specialist I Division: Exterior Services

Reports to: Procurement Manager II Status: Non-Exempt

Supervises: None Revised: May 2024

This position is responsible for sourcing equipment appropriate for projects within Powerhouse and maintaining accurate tracking procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Source all equipment for needed projects.
  • Compare prices to obtain best value.
  • Schedule equipment for delivery as needed by the PM – relaying order information back to the PM for confirmation.
  • Create equipment Purchase Orders (PO’s) in CMS/Core
  • Vet all invoices and upload to CMS or Core – Approve invoices as needed
  • Update tracker with all of the above-mentioned information insuring accuracy.
  • Build relationships with existing vendors and identify new vendors to service emerging needs.
  • Compare material prices and services to pursue the most profitable course in line with business objectives.
  • Maintain supply delivery deadlines as needed for project completion.
  • Experience with data-entry, database management and reporting and compliance necessary
  • Must be an independent worker and able to succeed with little supervision.
  • Must be comfortable in an everchanging environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with an ever-changing environment and demanding customers.
  • Must be a team player and able to support teammates at any given time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience in an exterior services procurement environment preferred.

Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills necessary

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position works in an environment with moderate noise level. (Examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic). Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as telephone. The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 20 pounds. Ability to read and understand work instructions.
