What it's like to be a CARES/Housing Support Specialist

In the role of the Housing and Recovery Support Specialist at Stand Inc., you will be an integral part of the recovery support process for our clients. Your daily responsibilities will encompass key areas such as transportation, housing, health & safety, and recovery support. You will ensure the safe operation of transportation for clients, maintaining vehicles, and conducting regular preventive maintenance inspections. Conducting new resident orientation, offering ongoing recovery support, and performing weekly home inspections are crucial monthly tasks you will undertake.

As part of the Health & Safety Committee, you will conduct inspections, upkeep buildings, and address minor repairs. Through your work, you will connect individuals to local recovery communities and uphold the values of recovery in all client interactions. What you need to be successful

To excel as a Housing and Recovery Support Specialist at Stand Inc., candidates must possess specific skills and qualifications. Essential requirements include being a Certified Addiction Recovery Empower Specialist (CARES) or eligible to obtain certification. A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, along with a valid driver's license. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to pass a federal background check and drug screening, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and regulations.

Proficiency in relevant software and tools, combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, is vital for effectively carrying out transportation, housing, health & safety, and recovery support responsibilities.
