Eugene and Larry Urban launched the Corpus Christi civil engineering practice on April 1, 1965. We've grown over the years to become an industry leader in surveying and site development for residential and commercial property developers alike.

Our experience also includes master planning, site development, and construction supervision for water, wastewater, and drainage projects for various South Texas municipalities and other governmental agencies.

Our team in Corpus Christi is looking for a Civil Engineer E.I.T. - Public Works. In this job, you will assist our land and site clients while focusing on creating sound projects and providing high-quality service options to a wide range of clients.

What you will do:

  • Assist in coordinating Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations, schedules, and submittals.
  • Assist with additional design requirements as needed.
  • Hands-on design work.
  • Frequent contact with clients and management of client relationships, as well as utility owners, to ensure project timetables are fulfilled while remaining consistent with federal, state, and local laws, as well as any additional restrictions necessary by the client.
  • Assist with land and site development design, which includes infrastructure, pavement, and drainage.
  • Work with the project team to satisfy the client's requirements and objectives.
  • Review and execute QA/QC on supplied agreements, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and invoices to ensure compliance with the client's relevant rules, laws, and requirements
  • Conduct project records investigation, gather design and utility company contacts, and create contact ledgers and utility conflict tracking reports.
  • Utility permits (preparation and submission). monitor the status of the project timeline.
  • Prepare project cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with environmental subconsultants.
  • Assist in preparing client deliverables, exhibits, project guidelines, project evaluations, project invoices, expenditure reports, and project monitoring/field verification as needed.

What you bring:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • 3-5+ years of progressive engineering experience with an emphasis on land & site development
  • Working knowledge of CIVIL3D software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude to take initiative on projects, coordinate well with other team members, adjust to changing conditions/requirements, accept responsibility for mistakes, and seek for instruction when needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and fulfill deadlines while working on numerous concurrent tasks.
  • Ability to interact and work in project teams, engage in creative and critical thinking, and effectively convey ideas, design concerns, and solutions to others.
  • Proven organizational and proactive time management abilities.
  • Strong drive to learn and undertake new sorts of undertakings.
  • The ability to notice when technological problems arise and take proactive remedial action utilizing strong professional judgment, inventiveness, and invention.
