Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Referrals Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office procedures, including payment posting, and will be proficient in handling various administrative tasks. This role is crucial in managing patient referrals, coordinating with insurance providers, and supporting our eye care specialists. Key Responsibilities: Answer Phones: Provide excellent customer service by answering incoming calls, addressing patient inquiries, and directing calls to the appropriate staff members. Payment Posting: Accurately process and post payments received from patients and insurance companies, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded. Medicaid Processing: Run Medicaid eligibility checks and process charts to ensure proper billing and coverage. Referral Management: Coordinate and manage patient referrals, including verifying insurance information and scheduling appointments with specialists. Chart Management: Pull and review patient charts to ensure all necessary documentation and referral information is complete and accurate. Administrative Support: Assist with various administrative tasks as needed, including filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records.
Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 2 years of medical office experience, with a strong understanding of payment posting and referral processes. Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Medicaid billing procedures. Bilingual: Proficiency in [language] is preferred and will result in an additional $1.00 per hour upon hire. Customer Service: Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
