POSITION:

Human Resources Administrative Assistant

STATUS:

Hourly (non-exempt)

REPORTS TO:

HR Manager

None

LOCATION:

Winslow, ME

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a 6-month role that supports the human resources processes by scheduling interview appointments, maintaining HR, benefits, and confidential records and information, and performing basic benefits administration.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Entering, formatting, and printing information; organizing work; answering the telephone; relaying messages.
  2. Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential.
  3. Organize, compile, and update company personnel records and documentation.
  4. Recruitment of potential applicants through job postings
  5. Conduct preliminary interviews of potential candidates and make offers of employment
  6. Administrative tasks include performing background checks, filing paperwork, completing employee documentation, recording data on each current employee, and maintaining and filing paperwork of terminated or exiting employees.
  7. Represent the company at community and recruiting events.
  8. Provide administrative support for office personnel.
  9. Answer employee questions and address employee concerns with the company; report to HR Manage

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting, including hiring and retention.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Effectively plan and demonstrate organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrates above-average problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of local employment laws with the ability to apply them to situations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
