Job Summary


As the Dual Director of Sales, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that increase revenue and enhance market presence for both Courtyard by Marriott and SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Bettendorf, IA. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills and a proven track record in the hospitality industry.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research and solicit new business in person, by phone, and by email.
  • Negotiate and secure local corporate accounts and group blocks, national accounts through the brand, and a variety of leisure and SMERF business with a focus on hotel room sales and small-to midscale events.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies for both hotels to achieve revenue goals and market share growth. Actively attends relevant business networking events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, corporate accounts, and travel agencies to drive bookings and increase brand loyalty.
  • Plan and execute sales events, promotional activities, and partnerships to boost hotel visibility and attract new business.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis and competitor research to identify opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Generate proposals, contracts, and event orders. Collaborate with hotel departments to ensure the proper planning, execution, and follow-up of all bookings.
  • Detail all aspects of the event through in-person, email, and phone correspondence; obtain all pertinent information; and approve and finalize price negotiations with client.
  • Maintain detailed client communication records to ensure timely follow-up and re-booking opportunity.
  • Achieve annual sales goals and monthly budgetary figures.
  • Perform other duties as may be required within the sales department or within other departments.



Qualifications and Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager or Director in the hospitality industry, experience with dual property or multi-location oversight is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work during regular business hours, Monday - Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and sales information systems preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and hear fluent English required, other languages beneficial.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances.
  • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities required.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.
  • Ability to stand and walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. Occasional stooping and crouching.
  • Ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 40 pounds independently, and ability to push/pull medium to large weights/objects.
