Assistant Brewer / Draft Manager position open at Haven Beer Company.
We are a new craft brewery with a taproom, restaurant, Biergarten, event space, and rooftop bar. Haven opened in February 2024 and focuses on a new American dining and drinking experience. The Assistant Brewer / Draft Manager will act as a bridge between production and guest engagement by ensuring that all elements of beer packaging and service follow our guidelines and standards. The ideal candidate should be guest focused and have a passion for beer.
Duties
- Responsibilities will cover all areas of draft management and packaging, as well as general labor in the facility. As a direct report to the Head Brewer, the Assistant Brewer / Draft Manager will assist or perform, as assigned, in the areas of packaging, fermentation, staff training, draft system maintenance, guest keg ordering, keg organization, cleaning, canning, R&D, quality control, lab, inventory management, maintenance and compliance. Creating, updating, and maintaining all beer items in Toast POS.
- Additional duties will be assigned to accommodate changing business objectives.
- The Assistant Brewer / Draft Manager will ensure that all kegging and canning line materials are in place to meet daily production runs; run and troubleshoot the kegging or canning line; pack into boxes and palletize cases while organizing cold storage spaces; clean and sanitize all areas and equipment, pre and post production; handle raw ingredient and finished good inventories; propose and implement one-offs; maintain accurate paper and digital records in company format; perform general plant and equipment preventative maintenance and upgrades; perform testing and lab work as assigned; perform administrative tasks as assigned; assist in ongoing staff training and updates; operate brewing equipment; operate pallet jack and keg lift in accordance with mandated safety standards; and operate any additional plant equipment not previously mentioned.
Requirements
- All individuals on the team will be expected to cross-train and learn to operate all equipment.
- Responsibly serve alcohol and prevent overservice.
- To be successful in the Assistant Brewer / Draft Manager position at Haven Beer Company, an individual shall:
- Have working knowledge of basic math and chemistry, online spreadsheets, clean operating practices and some quality control/assurance experience
- Meet or exceed production requirements and quotas
- Communicate problems and issues effectively in order to keep the operation running
- Work in a team environment with a courteous and ambitious attitude
- Be productive while maintaining high quality standards
- Adhere to rules and company policies, especially safety rules
- Adhere to company time and attendance schedules
- Learn new skills and complete training as assigned
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a damp environment with hot liquids, airborne particles, chemicals and moving machinery.
Days & Hours
Wednesday - Sunday 9:00AM to 5:30PM. Negotiable.- May change according to business objectives and mandatory overtime may be required.
Pay is $20 - $24 per hour DOE for production work and regular bartending wages + tips for service work.
