The Photo Stylist works with a broad team of creatives, photographers, clients, production personnel and others to create innovative, high quality, on brand, and beautiful/aesthetically pleasing images for client advertising across multiple media platforms. The Photo Stylist is a cross-functional collaborator who delivers across multiple photography projects, while driving deadlines and maintaining quality.
About you: You have a creative background with experience in the commercial photography industry, styling both soft lines and hard goods. A portfolio showcasing your hands on photo styling skills. You excel in complex, fast-paced environments and can make even the trickiest apparel shine. You have excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with all partners.
What you’ll do:
- Prepare merchandise for set, including but not limited to: steaming, pining, stuffing and
- ironing to ensure camera ready quality of merchandise
- Detailed knowledge of fabrics, care, and proper handling
- Provide onset styling of hard goods and soft line merchandise for catalog, ecomm and lifestyle photo shoots
- Collaborate with all studio and design partners to ensure styling and photography is on brand
- Assist in creating and maintaining a brands style guide (look and feel, styling, lighting)
- Contribute to the ideation and execution of set builds
- Source and/or create photography props, sets, backgrounds and surfaces
- Must be able take direction and communicate with art directors and clients
- Act as a positive team player who does not hesitate to jump in when additional support is needed
- Responsible for the timely completion and accuracy of photography
- Maintain an organized and clean prep area and on-set zone
- Assist with other tasks or duties as assigned
What you need:
- 2-3 years styling in a commercial photo studio
- Portfolio demonstrating your work and expertise
- Experience with both hard goods and soft lines, especially apparel off figure
- Knowledge of digital commercial photography and workflows
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and eager to learn and contribute
- Ability to multi-task, organize, and problem-solve under tight deadlines
- Flexible, and able to respond immediately to business changes and priorities
- Knowledge of Adobe CC, Digital Photography and Lighting
- Ability to accept constructive criticism and adapt or modify as needed
- Desire to collaborate with creative teams and clients fostering positive working relationships and contributing to collective success
- Proactive and self-motivated individual with a passion for creative
Physical Requirements:
- Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Periods of standing, bending and walking through photo sets
- Must be able to lift up to 20-40 pounds at times
- Must be able to access and navigate each department in the facility
