Electrical Engineering – Summer 2024 Internship

LeoStella is a state-of-the-art small satellite design and manufacturing company based in the Seattle area. At LeoStella, we are redefining how high-quality satellite constellations are built at scale. Our focus is on developing and using intelligent and agile engineering and manufacturing processes to accelerate the development and production of small-sat constellations, all while lowering costs and increasing on-orbit capabilities.

Position Description:

This summer, we’re seeking passionate, creative, and upbeat students to join our electrical engineering team.  As an intern, you’ll have the opportunity to make impactful contributions to design and development of space electronics as we continue development of our next-generation LS-200 and LS-300 satellite buses, which we’ll deliver to customers later this year..  You’ll work closely with our electrical engineering manager and senior engineers on the team, doing analysis, schematics, hands-on hardware lab testing, and designs for analog and digital systems.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder).  Due to government regulation of the space industry, this requirement cannot be waived.
  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Electrical Engineering, ideally as a rising junior or senior in undergrad.
  • Proven applied engineering experience (past internships, academic/research, CubeSat, or relevant extracurricular projects).
  • Basic knowledge/understanding of electrical engineering topics & fundamentals (schematics, analysis, design, embedded hardware, power electronics, etc.)
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Ability to collaborate across EE team and cross-functional teams at LeoStella
  • Strong communication skills
  • Passion in new space & the greater aerospace industry.
  • Ability to work full-time, on-site for at least 10 consecutive weeks in Tukwila, WA, from June to August 2024.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Past experience specifically in 1 or more of the following:
    • Power Electronics, in either academic projects or past internships
    • Robotics
    • CubeSat program during undergraduate studies
  • Direct knowledge of schematic capture & circuit design tools, such as Altium.
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment, such as oscilloscopes or power meters, signal generators, etc.
  • Past internship experience, ideally in aerospace or aerospace-adjacent industry
  • GPA of 3.5 or above
Additional Notes:
  • Pay Range in WA: $25.00 USD Hourly
  • Eligibility for WA Paid Safe Sick Leave (1 hour sick time, for every 40 hours of work)
