Wine Buyer at Red Carpet Liquors

Red Carpet Liquors in Gallatin, TN is looking for one wine buyer to join our 10 person strong team. We are located on 505 Garnet Ct. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and reliable. The Buyer will be responsible for driving sales and achieving margin targets while working cross-functionally with internal teams. The Buyer will manage select categories, suppliers, oversee new item releases and coordinate special buys. The ideal candidate will be able to analyze data, have a very strong sense of urgency, prioritization and attention to detail, making recommendations that will drive Fine Wine sales and margin. The candidate will need to build strong relationships with internal and external business partners, as the position involves significant cross-department collaboration. They work with the promotions and pricing team, to meet the customer's demands and supply chain and replenishment teams to ensure proper inventories. The Buyer also serves as a Category Captain for a particular varietal, ensuring that the category metrics are achieved.

You will

• Grow sales by identifying opportunities with suppliers and managing category analytics, planning for promotional activity, building sales programs and creating sales plans/allocations for new and existing items/brands
• Manage new item releases, including communication with suppliers, forecast, deadlines, and arrival to market
• Manage supplier relationships by conducting and recapping supplier meetings, driving efficiencies in ordering/managing inventory/costs/ and organizing clear plan for supplier relationship and bringing open issues to a close
• Directly and independently manage all aspects of supplier management across all tiers of suppliers
• Review new items for assigned categories
• Create sell through strategy for excessive inventory & drives allocation strategy for Fine Wine items

You will come with

• 4-year undergraduate degree (plus, not required)
• 4-6 years retail buying, planning, allocation or merchandising experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
• Wine and wine industry knowledge
• Experience in analysis of assortment, sales and/or margin data
• Ability to build effective relationships and communicate with business partners and teammates
• Ability to deal successfully with complexities of a rapidly expanding organization
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written
• Ability to work in a fast paced, hands-on environment

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $15.00 - $25.00/hour.
