Career Opportunity: Purchasing Coordinator

We seek a motivated and responsible technical professional to execute the day-to-day purchasing requirements for production, inventory and on time delivery of customer orders. Responsible for analyzing and maintaining SAP system data, requesting quotations, issuing purchase orders and entering order confirmations. Work as a team with production planning, engineering, manufacturing and logistics to support our production plan, resolve problems and ensure on time project status.

Purchasing Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Review output from the SAP-MRP generation. Analyze purchase requisitions
  • Negotiate prices and follow competitive bidding procedures when necessary to ensure the lowest total cost of goods
  • Process purchase requisitions, determine appropriate supplier, issue purchase orders, ensure receipt of order acknowledgements from supplier and order confirmations are entered into SAP
  • Review and resolve problems that arise in relation to delivery dates, quality, specifications, quantity or cost of purchased goods or services
  • Work with engineering and manufacturing to ensure the correct material, correct quantity is available for production at the appropriate time
  • Expedite late purchase orders as required
  • Effectively manage work time and be self-directed in order to meet production needs/schedules

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing, MRP, inventory management or other supply chain management function required.
  • Technical knowledge of purchasing, production planning or inventory control in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal & written
  • Thoroughness and attention to details
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations for process improvements
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with an ability to handle a multitude of projects required

Computer Skills

  • Competence with Microsoft Office software required
  • Detailed knowledge of MRP/ERP systems required. Experience with SAP a plus

Education

  • Bachelor's or Associates degree in business administration, supply chain or operations

Status: 40 hours per week, accommodate overtime as needed

Time: 7:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday
