The Town of Ashland seeks qualified applicants for the position of Temporary Election Coordinator for the Town Clerk’s Office. This position will be 40 hours per week and provide support to the Elections Department of the Town Clerk’s Office and will perform a variety of diversified duties under the direction and supervision of the Town Clerk through December 31, 2024.

The Election Coordinator will be responsible for the processing of Vote-By-Mail applications for the September 3, 2024 State Primary Election and the November 5, 2024 Presidential Election, as well as filing and keeping materials organized effectively and efficiently. They will process annual census forms, daily voter registrations, and various administrative work relative to the election process. They will also be responsible for friendly customer service, answering telephones, and the ability to evaluate incoming calls for priority, and direct them to employees when appropriate. Some evening and weekend hours during election season and Town Meetings is required. The Election Coordinator will be responsible for performing other duties and functions related to the Town Clerk’s office as assigned.

A high school diploma and 1-3 years of experience working in an office setting, a municipality, or customer service is preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. This position requires maintaining positive, professional relationships with staff and the public and relating to staff in a manner that promotes cooperation while performing appropriate services.
