Job DescriptionJob Description

JOB FUNCTIONS: Is proficient at setting up and operating a variety of machines, saws (i.e., radial, table etc.) and hand tools. Builds, laminates, sands, and assembles complex and prototype cabinets, galleys, doors, and trim. Detect and notify group leader of any defects by visual and manual examination. Must have Formica laminating and Filing Experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Receives verbal daily work order from group leader.

2. Assembles precut parts from CNC using hand tools.

3. Fits prefabricated wooden parts together.

4. Trims and sands parts using hand tools and sandpaper.

5. Laminates Formica to doors, cabinets, and galleys.

6. Inserts screws or dowels in predrilled holes and fastens parts together with screwdriver, clamps and glue.

7. Installs hardware and accessories, such as hinges, latches, knobs, and mirrors.

8. Builds and assembles galleys, doors, and cabinets according to specifications from drawing books.

9. Repairs product before sending to shipping or return items.

10. Builds temporary jigs and fixtures.

11. Visually and manually inspects parts to ensure correct quantity and quality are met.

12. Files parts to ensure smooth edges using care not to damage part.

13. Notifies group leader of any problems with equipment.

14. Advises group leader, supervisor, or any other management associate of any safety issue.

15. Informs appropriate department, group leader and/or management associate of any product shortage, defect, delays, or any other problem that affects shipment to customer.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSBILITES:

1. Assists prototype department in fabrication of parts.

2. Helps to train new employees.

3. Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

QUALIFICATION: Previous wood working experience required. Lifting to 50 lbs. Manual dexterity is required. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to read tape measure in inches. Requires ability to work in extreme temperature conditions. Ability to understand and follow directions.

SCHEDULE:

Monday- Friday 7am-3:30pm

***Overtime Hours available in the early morning either at 5am or 6am depending on workload.

***Over time available on Saturdays from 5am-10am depending on workload.
