Job DescriptionJob Description

DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for performing surgical tech/central sterile tech tasks and related tech service duties under the direction of the OR manager and/or Circulating Nurse. Duties include, but are not limited to: preparing OR rooms with instruments, sutures and other supplies and equipment, performs as a scrub tech according to procedure standards, assists in needle, sponge and instrument counts with RN. Assist with other duties as outlined by the OR Manager and/or Circulating Nurse.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: HS Diploma or GED - Graduate of surgical tech program preferred

LICENSURE: Minimum - Scrub Tech

Preferred - Certified Scrub Tech (CST)

CERTIFICATION: BLS (Basic Life Saving)

OTHER: Experience in Endoscopy preferred, Ordering supplies and sterile processing

EXPERIENCE: Minimum - up to 1 year job related experience

Preferred - 2 - 5 years of recent job related experience

WORKING CONDITIONS: Category 1 - Expected Exposure
