What you will be doing:
- Assist in the development of programs, coverages, rates, and forms for the commercial residential property product, working cross-departmentally throughout the organization.
- Solicit, underwrite, and price new and renewal commercial residential property business.
- Provide superior underwriting and client services to brokers, agents, and other company affiliates.
- Review technical inspections, appraisals, and other data relevant to the risk profile, analyzing for risk appetite, profitability, and overall portfolio characteristics to ensure a financially sound product.
- Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions, correspondence, and other relevant documentation.
- Serve as the company representative to commercial brokers and agents, fostering relationships with new partners and identifying new business opportunities.
- Work with external partners, identify trends and recommend appropriate underwriting, pricing, and product action to the leadership team.
- Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting commercial insurance underwriting.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on commercial residential property and assist with training as needed.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
What you have:
Education, Experience, and Licensing:
- Bachelor's degree or High School diploma and equivalent relevant work experience required.
- 3+ years' experience in Commercial Residential Property Insurance experience
- Active Florida 2-20 General Lines Insurance License required.
- Professional Insurance Designations such as CPCU, CIC, AAI, desired.
Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
- Expert knowledge of commercial lines products and underwriting processes and risk management techniques.
- Strong knowledge of insurance and reinsurance structure.
- Proven ability to be adaptable and flexible; adjusting to new requirements or unforeseen issues.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally interact with team members across departments.
- Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
