Digital Content Creator – Hartford Yard Goats
Job Description:
The Hartford Yard Goats, a groundbreaking & innovative team in Minor League Baseball, is searching for a digital content creator who can take our social media, in-park experience, and advertising to the next level. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating short form video content to TELL STORIES. A self-starter who is clever, funny, innovative, and has a UNIQUE take on the world. A team player who is confident in their opinions.
The ideal candidate will have experience creating videos, and has content to share. A strong working knowledge of social media platforms. The ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Solid experience with graphic design is definitely a plus, as well as familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite.
This is NOT a social media manager position. It’s not a production position. It’s a CREATOR position, for one who works hand-in-hand with the Social & Production departments. It’s also an in-house position, year-round.
Position Summary:
- Lead the creation of engaging, creative & innovative short-form video stories
- Contribute to social media, in-game, and advertising concepts and activations
- Create digital graphics as needed
- Contribute to social media accounts as needed
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement content strategies
- Ensure all content aligns with the organization's brand, style guidelines, and marketing goals
Qualifications:
- Proven experience creating short-form video content for social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, etc.
- Strong understanding of social media trends and the ability to adapt to evolving digital landscapes.
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut)
- Creative storytelling skills with a focus on engaging younger audiences and driving interaction across multiple platforms.
- Basic photography and videography skills with the ability to shoot and edit content on the go.
- Graphic design skills with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Proven ability to think creatively and strategically to develop fresh ideas that resonate with our target audiences.
- Portfolio of digital content or sample work that demonstrates creativity, style, and technical proficiency.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on meeting deadlines for multiple projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
This position is classified as Non-Exempt from the provisions of State and Federal wage laws, which means that you will be paid overtime for all hours actually worked in excess of 40 hour in a given week. Additionally, your position is bonus eligible, but note that bonus compensation is not guaranteed and is provided at the Company's sole discretion. In addition to your cash compensation, you will be eligible to participate in the Company's group, medical, dental, vision and life insurance plans, as well as the 401(k) retirement plan, inclusive of a discretionary matching Company contributions program. You will also be provided with paid vacation (PTO) and paid company holiday time off.
