Responsible for the management of materials for the Toledo plant operation and supported by the Corporate Supply Chain team. Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production and customer demands through the utilization of our SAP, MRP system. Maintain inventory accuracy through established cycle count practices and be able to establish professional relationships with suppliers to meet our business needs.

Essential Functions

  1. Monitors consumption rates and maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries while minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation charges.
  2. Procures raw materials, packaging materials, manufacturing supplies, janitorial supplies, and personal protective equipment.
  3. Monitors open PO’s to ensure vendors give confirmations and meet expected delivery dates. Proactively communicates delays in shipments including international shipments.
  4. Investigates and solves problems resulting from material shortages, however caused.
  5. Monitors maintenance of perpetual inventory system to ensure the highest degree of accuracy throughout the year. Enter and audits monthly cycle counts per established guidelines.
  6. Management of aging and imperfect inventory to maintain accurate valuation of goods-on-hand.
  7. Review parked and blocked invoices. Also review and correct goods receipt errors.
  8. Works closely with the Corporate Supply Chain team as it relates to vendor selection, certification, and resolving conflicts between actual vendor performance and expectations.
  9. Updates spreadsheet and participates in weekly meeting for incoming international shipments.
  10. Maintains Toledo Safety Data Sheets.
Requirements:

Skills

  1. Strong computer skills and proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  2. Effectively lead others as it relates to monthly cycle count exercises.
  3. Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  4. Strong organizational, planning and communication skills.
  5. Ability to be forklift certified.

Education and Experience

1. High school diploma required.

2. 3-5 years of purchasing experience, using a computer based MRP system is required.

3. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field is preferred.

4. Chemical industry experience preferred.

5. SAP and Business Warehouse experience preferred.

6. APICS Certification is preferred.
