The Capital Project Manager/Controller will lead efforts in optimizing and maintaining the workflows and organizational structures that are critical to the success of the Biogas, Leachate, and Wellfield team of the company. The primary workflows that the role will be responsible for are Procurement, Project and Operational Resource Accounting, and Maintain both informational and asset inventory.

Managing the procurement workflow will include processing and generating Purchase Order Requests from supporting documentation supplied by the other Biogas and Leachate team members within the Biogas, Leachate, and Wellfield team members. Once Purchase Order Requests are approved and issued as a purchase order by the correct approver, the Capital Project Manager/Controller will move the relevant transaction files and information to the applicable accounting log based on which Operation or Project the transaction. At this point the duties for the transaction are complete.

The Capital Project Manager/Controller will be responsible for ensuring the correct flow and archiving of critical information from the projects and operations level to the 3rd party receiver of the information. This will not include generating the content of the information, but simply reviewing the information for completeness per the requirements of the report to be submitted to the third party and ensuring that the information is archived in the appropriate location within the company’s information systems. This includes, but is not limited to, project submittals, operational reports, and vendor and contractor records submittals. In most cases, the Capital Project Manager/Controller will also be responsible for submitting the information to the appropriate 3rd party receiver.

Asset inventory will include maintaining resource and asset lists for operating facilities as well as procurement receiving schedules for materials, equipment, and other goods received. The Capital Project Manager/Controller will also work with operational leaders to ensure that critical spares, commodity parts, and consumables are maintained in sufficient supply. The Capital Project Manager/Controller will help operational leaders identify these items, develop and oversee the maintenance of logs of the items, and identify appropriate reordering/replenishing schedules for the items based on consumption rates.

The final portion of the Capital Project Manager/Controller's role will be to help asset operational leaders and division leadership to capture Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure the proper archiving and conveyance of these items to other team members.

The CPM/Controller will need to be confident in the use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Share Point. The CPM/Controller will be expected to maintain a consistency in their formatting and completeness of all documents and information they will generate, maintain, or archive to ensure continuity across their responsibilities. This will be critical to the overall success of the division by ensuring that the information structures conform to a standard accepted, understood, and known by all team members. Ultimately the expectation is that Biogas and Leachate division will realize improved communication, operational, and project efficiencies as a result of the efforts and success of the CPM/Controller.

Working Hours –

  • Minimum of 40 hours per week, up to 60 hours per week during peak project activity periods (including weekends during asset commissioning).

Vacation Time –

  • 10 vacation days per year, additional 3 days’ vacation after first year of service.

Working Location –

  • Based out of the Canonsburg office
  • Travelling to asset locations up to 5 days a week during peak project activities
  • Up to 25% remote as duties allow.

  • Assigned Credit card for use with fuel for work purposes, project and operational purchases, and other travel expenses if and when overnight stays become necessary (all sites are within 2.5 hours of Downtown Pittsburgh, PA).
