The Maintenance Mechanic will oversee the performance and maintenance of multiple production machines. Besides the repair and troubleshooting of equipment, the maintenance mechanic will support with preventive maintenance and equipment setup when changing work orders.

Through our Amatex, Darco Southern, Davlyn Manufacturing, and Norfab businesses, our products and engineering services are used by thousands of customers in over 50 countries to help keep heat in its place, improve safety, and increase productivity. DGH is a leading manufacturer of technical textiles, fabrics and yarns used in the appliance industry, industrial markets, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Essential Functions:
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, gear boxes, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and screws.
- Repair/troubleshoot hydraulic cylinders, flow problems, solenoids, and pumps.
- Partners up with Engineering and other technicians to order and install replacement parts for machines.
- Work with Operations to identify the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines and to maintain equipment running efficiently.
- Make minor wiring repairs and troubleshoot basic electrical issues
- Repair, install and dismantle machinery and equipment according to plans which involves working at heights, climbing ladders, and using mobile equipment (cranes, forklift, scissor lift, etc.).
- Read blueprints & wiring diagrams for the installation & repair of equipment and the facility.
- Maintain a safe work area.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Some vocational or community college with related coursework, preferred.
- 3 + years’ experience working in Electromechanics, Industrial Maintenance or relevant field.
- Previous experience using bearing, heaters, interference fits, and/or removing gear boxes or seized bearings/shafts.
Skills:
- Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
- Ability to properly operate band saws, torch, drill presses, grinders and other shop tools
- Works well independently and with others.
- Good communication skills.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
- Basic mathematical skills used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use decimals and fractions
- Proficient with use of power tools, measuring devices, lathe and/or milling machinery.
- Basic to Intermediate Electrical skills are a plus.
- Welding/fabrication skills are a plus.
- Basic knowledge of PLC and HMI functions is a plus.
- Computer skills are a plus
Supervisory Responsibility
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Travel:
- This position does not require travel.
Shift Hours:
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Overtime available
- All shifts receive a 30-minute unpaid lunch, daily. This is an on-site role.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently.
- Ability to tolerate prolonged periods of walking, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, climbing ladders, or kneeling.
- At times, work in confined spaces
- Able to visually inspect machines
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- The facility is not air conditioned and is subject to hot temperatures during the summer months.
- Many areas of the production floor have a very high noise level. Hearing protection is required in these areas.
- Regularly work near moving mechanical parts.
- Come in contact with fiberglass.
