Job Description
An Underwriting Verifications Specialist plays a pivotal role in assessing risk and ensuring the accuracy of credit applications. They collaborate with the underwriting team to verify critical information in evaluating applicants for the underwriting team to be able to make an informed decision. If youre detail-oriented, analytical, and thrive in a financial environment, this role might be a great fit for you.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and Review Information:
- Gather relevant data from applicants, including credit history, income, and residence.
- Scrutinize relevant documents to determine authenticity or falsehood.
- Record all findings into the companys application file.
- Risk Assessment:
- Call each applicant to verify their correct phone number.
- Verify all of the provided information on the application by calling place of employment and residence.
- Record all findings into the companys application file.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with underwriters and relay all findings for a sound decision to be made on the financing application.
- Experience:
- Preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with risk assessment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and applicants.
This is a part-time, in-office position located in Hickory, NC.
