ISRI is a reputable company in the recycling industry, known for our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. We are currently seeking a skilled Baler Operator to join our team. As a Baler Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining balers to efficiently process recyclable materials. Your attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and ability to work independently will be essential in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment.

Responsibilities

Machine Operation: Operate baler machines to compress and bundle various recyclable materials. Adjust machine settings for optimal performance and material specifications. Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues.

Material Handling: Load materials into the baler machine. Ensure that materials are sorted and free of contaminants.

Remove bundled bales from the machine and prepare them for transport or storage.

Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on baler machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as necessary. Report any mechanical issues or necessary repairs to maintenance personnel. Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Adhere to company policies and regulations regarding material handling and machine operation

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience operating balers or similar machinery is preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment operation.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify and remove contaminants from materials.
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Strong adherence to safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts as needed.
  • Basic computer skills for logging and reporting purposes.
  • Ability to withstand physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, and operating equipment for extended periods.
