A. Position Summary

Truck Team Members at 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchises are the “face” of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Each day is different from the next. TTMs are matched up with another team member each day and travel around to different areas of the franchise’s local territory in our shiny blue trucks. TTMs visit our customers’ homes or businesses to take away their unwanted items and leave smiles on Customers’ faces. TTMs are committed to safety and to being environmentally friendly by recycling, donating, and other options for keeping as much out of landfills as possible.

B. Key Responsibilities

The Truck Team Member - Driver is responsible for operating the truck in a safe & road-friendly manner that maintains a positive company image in the minds of customers and other drivers - courteous, friendly, helpful, neat and clean.

The Truck Team Member - Driver, along with the other Truck Team Member (Navigator or Driver) is responsible for executing the daily production of work following 1-800-GOT-JUNK? policies and procedures.

High level responsibilities at a 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise include:

  • Each shift starts at the franchise office location where the TTM will be matched up with another team member and given their service routes for the day
  • TTMs head out in 1-800-GOT-JUNK?’s shiny blue trucks to visit customers’ homes and properties and take away their unwanted items while leaving smiles on their faces
  • TTMs dispose of items responsibly through recycling, donating and waste management facilities
  1. Arrive in full uniform ready to deliver the brand focus areas of:
  • Friendly Uniformed Drivers
  • On-Time Service
  • Clean Shiny Trucks
  • Upfront Rates
  1. Review job schedule with other assigned TTM for the day
  2. Perform truck inspection with TTM Navigator or other TTM Driver at start of the day.
  3. Ensure you have all needed materials: maps, cell phone, invoice book, price list, etc.
  4. Adhere to all safety guidelines while driving.
  5. Treat everyone you come in contact with (customers, vendors, workers at the dump/recycle center), with professionalism.
  6. Visit customers’ homes and properties to review jobs, confirm or provide an estimate to do the work and share the value of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? services.
  7. Perform jobs following the REAPP method providing customers with a fair, honest price.
  8. Complete all physical labor associated with the jobs in a timely, safe manner to keep the schedule on track.
  9. Complete all jobs on-time, every time.
  10. Visit recycling centers and donation partners to offload any items that can be saved from landfills.
  11. Offload any other materials and dumps/transfer stations.
  12. Constant communications with Dispatch or Operations Management to confirm jobs and timelines throughout the day and pivot according to any changes or new jobs booked for the day.
  13. Utilize the company-provided app to input data throughout the day for tracking and quality assurance.
  14. Ensure all paperwork is completed and handed-in at the end of the day in your truck journal including: inspection sheet, schedule form, profit share calculation, marketing tracking sheet, business cards collected, all receipts (gas, dumps), and copies of completed and signed invoices

  1. Education
  • No minimum education requirement.

2. Experience - Prior Experience Preferred

Prior experience in any of the following an asset, but not required:

  • General Labor, Moving
  • Delivery Driver, Driver
  • Customer Service, Sales, Hospitality, Fitness, Restaurant / Food Service
