Safety Specialist

Summary

Primarily responsible for supporting the Safety department with duties including but not limited to coordinating training programs, assist in conducting risk assessments and safety inspections, maintaining a safety presence within the site to ensure our compliance, and completing all tasks assigned by the Senior Safety Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education – Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related area.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health certification or equivalent.
  
• 0 - 2 years of experience in construction safety roles.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of basic safety regulations and procedures in the construction industry.
• Microsoft office experience (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Good communication and organizational skills.
  
• Understanding of Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions  

• Assist Safety Managers in implementing safety protocols and procedures in construction sites.
• Monitor construction sites for potential safety hazards and issues.
• Maintain records of incidents and accidents and prepare safety reports.
• Review and maintain compliance with government regulations and ordinances.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
  
• Maintain compliance with occupational health and safety regulations specifically tailored to construction.
• Assist in conducting risk assessments and safety inspections on construction equipment and environments.
• Coordinate safety training and awareness programs for construction workers.
