Job Title: Work Crew Leader

Salary: $20.94 - $26.51 per hour

Klamath County is on the lookout for a Work Crew Leader to join the Community Corrections Department.  As a supervisor of Corrections Work Crews, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and improving our community’s infrastructure. You'll oversee the upkeep and repair of county roads, parks, and facilities for various local, state, and federal agencies. This means working closely with the Assistant Director, Supervisor, and Corrections Assistant to plan and schedule projects that keep our community safe, functional, and beautiful.

The Ideal Candidate
Our Work Crew Leader will be a hands-on leader who loves working outdoors and has experience in maintenance and landscaping. If you’re organized, great with equipment, and can motivate a diverse team, this role is perfect for you

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the crew, supplies, and equipment to job sites.
  • Keep vehicles, tools, and equipment organized and ready to go.  Operate and teach safe handling of various equipment and tools and perform routine inspections and minor repairs.
  • Ensure work is done well and safely. Train the crew on project tasks, equipment use, and safety practices.  Follow all safety rules and ensure the crew does the same.
  • Keep records, write reports, and bill agencies for completed work.
  • Purchase supplies and equipment within budget and estimate time and material costs for crew activities.
  • Engage with agencies about work crew services, inspect job sites, and make sure projects are completed to their satisfaction.

Qualifications
  • Experience in supervision, maintenance, gardening, landscaping, and safe work zone traffic control.
  • Valid Oregon Driver's License
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
