About this role:

The Compliance Specialist assists the Director of Quality and Compliance with ensuring program adherence with licensure, accreditation, regulation, and government agency standards. This position will primarily focus on KDC’s children services and programs to ensure compliance with appropriate state departments and licensing. This will include Early Intervention (ages birth - 3) , KDC Therapies (ages birth - 18), and Foster Care and Family Services (ages birth - 22).

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm

We are looking for a Q/A Specialist who has: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred or a minimum of three years’ experience working in QA/Compliance, required.
  • Experience in Quality Improvement and data analysis, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS). adult services regulations, funding, and service models, preferred
  • Knowledge of Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF) service regulations, funding, and service models, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of state licensing, MassHealth and accreditation regulations and processes, preferred.
  • Able to proficiently utilize Microsoft Suite applications, primarily Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to travel to all program locations as requested. 
  • Ability to manage extensive phone and computer usage.

As KDC's Q/A Specialist you'll get to:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of regulations, processes and procedures impacting all KDC services.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Department of Developmental Services (DDS) licensing regulations, Department of Children and Family (DCF), Department of Public Health (DPH), Council on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and MassHealth. 
  • Participate as a QA/Compliance Team member in the development, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement plans for the agency.
  • Conduct periodic program reviews in accordance with review schedules to assess compliance with licensing and accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure KDC’s Early Intervention Programs are compliant with DPH Operational Standards.
  • Work in conjunction with the Director of QA and Compliance and Program Management to monitor compliance with action plans developed as a result of program reviews and needs.
  • Serve as a secondary specialist for KDC’s adult programs’ processes, procedures and regulations.
  • Monitor the State Data Systems (HCSIS) where applicable and respond accordingly.
  • Assist Director of QA/Compliance in providing technical assistance and ongoing training related to iCentrix, the adult services electronic health record (EHR), and maintain familiarity of use of the children’s program’s EHRs and process management systems.
  • Assist in training adult services employees on iCentrix and HCSIS upon hire and as needed.
  • Present the Quality and Compliance Department functions at new hire orientations, including overview of the Safety Committee and KDC’s anonymous ethics reporting service.
