**Position Summary**


The Maintenance Technician carries out both scheduled and daily activities within the Maintenance Department to ensure the facility meets safety and quality objectives. The role involves adhering to federal, state, local regulations, and company policies while prioritizing plant safety and Good Manufacturing Practices.



**Essential Job Functions**


- Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains machinery and equipment, including mixers, conveyors, compressors, and pumps.

- Troubleshoots, repairs, or replaces control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, and motor starters.

- Troubleshoots, repairs, or replaces oven components including burners, valves, bearings, and scrapers.

- Handles repairs or replacements of pneumatic and basic electrical power components.

- Troubleshoots, repairs, or replaces PLC-based control systems.

- Performs work order repairs, inspections, adjustments, as well as preventative and predictive maintenance tasks.

- Sets up and operates metalworking equipment such as hand tools, welders, drill presses, and grinders.

- Monitors and assists outside contractors on the premises.

- Collaborates with production, refrigeration, and warehouse personnel to address and resolve plant and process issues.

- Communicates relevant information to department management on a daily basis.

- Works with maintenance and refrigeration technicians to cross-train on system maintenance for comprehensive shift coverage.

- Assists in developing standard operating procedures and duty cycles for repairs and maintenance related to process and packaging equipment.

- Interprets plans, specifications, schematics, and operating and maintenance manuals for relevant systems.

- Maintains the plants boiler and hot water systems.

- Participates in safety, health, and environmental programs.

- High School diploma


*Preferred:*


- Technical College/PLC Certification Course

- Electrical/mechanical experience, preferably within a relevant industry

- Experience in a manufacturing and packaging environment

- Working knowledge of PLCs

- Bilingual ability in English and Spanish
