JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Logistics Specialist

Department: Logistics

Reports to: Logistics Manager

Location: Polynt Composites USA

Primary Accountabilities/Job functions:

• Auditing Freight Bills for Bulk, Truck loads and LTL shipments.
• Become proficient in the ZARLITE freight rate system.
• Freight data entry for all modes of transportation.
• Communicate and resolve freight billing issues with carriers.
• Conduct freight analysis for the different business groups.
• Logistic planner back-up support.
• Communicate and resolve customer complaints with carriers, which includes root cause analysis and corrective action determination.
• Carrier complaint tracking and trending.
• Manage the logistics parked list for Coatings, Composites and Specialty resins plants and warehouses.
• Develop a local working relationship with the carriers providing service to the plant sites.
• Manage Delivery process for Company warehouses.
• Manage delivery routes and BOL for shipments from the Company warehouses.
• Print BOL with carrier selected from an approved routing guide.
• Manage, distribute and organize all paperwork relating to Company warehouse deliveries.
• Handle collect shipments for Company warehouses.
• Manage accessorial charges that are incurred by the plant site:
• need charge code for plant to capture these costs as a manufacturing expense.
• keep proper documentation to approve payment of these expenses.
• Work with Corporate Logistic to resolve service issues involving customer and products supplied by the Company.
• Participate in the review of carrier’s Quality Performance and Measures.
• Participate with Corporate Logistics in discussions concerning improvements on day-to-day activity.
• Participate with Corporate Logistics in discussion concerning cost saving opportunities, etc.
• Participate in Rate Negotiations and lane assignment/reassignment.
• Demonstrate good teamwork skills in performing all job functions.
• Support company policies and programs.
  Skills/Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of SAP required.
• Working Knowledge and experience with Zarlite.
• Exceptional organizational Skills.
• Good Written and Verbal communication skills.
• Good Math calculation skills.
• MS Word, Excel.
• Good Typing skills, including 10 keypads.
