Adjunct Instructor of Art - Graphic Design
Description
The Department of Art is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Adjunct Professor of Graphic Design. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the education of aspiring designers by teaching foundation-level studio and graphic design courses.
Responsibilities
- Teach foundation-level studio courses in graphic design.
- Instruct the use of industry-standard software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Facilitate learning of principles of art and design
- Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentorship of students.
- Collaborate with department faculty to enhance curriculum and student learning experiences.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to foster their growth and development as creative professionals.
- Engage in professional development activities related to professional field.
- Participate in departmental meetings and other activities as needed.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Art, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Evidence of scholarly activity or research in the field of graphic design.
- Experience teaching graphic design courses at the college level preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative academic environment.
