The Residential Aid position is a great entry level role for anyone over 18, with a high school diploma and interested in working in the Human Services field. In this position, employees care for clients in a group home setting. Working with individuals on living skills, social and financial skills and treatment direction/follow through. All while being a key support staff to our therapeutic team. Our RA's will learn proper documentation techniques and other state /federal standards followed by the Department of Mental Health. ALL SHIFTS PRN

What We're Looking For:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Excellent 5-year Driving Record (must have valid driver’s license)
  • Certified in or ability to obtain: CPR/1st Aide, MAC I and II, CPI
  • Personal Automobile Liability Insurance in the amounts of $100k, $300k, $50k

What You'll Be Doing:

Residential Aide will provide shift oversight to the seriously mentally ill population in a Residential setting.

  • Provide direct care to the serious mental ill population in a home setting
  • Build professional rapport with clients, families, and peers
  • Demonstrate an understanding of clients and recovery plan interventions
  • Assist and redirect clients with their basic living skills
  • Record and maintain patient information such as vital signs and medication therapies
  • Facilitate individual and/or group basic living skill training sessions
  • Model appropriate behavior and interventions
  • Document progress notes in EHR as required by agency, DMH, and Medicaid
  • Monitor clients to detect unusual or harmful behaviors and report observations
  • Assist with coordinate client activities inhouse and community
  • Communicate effectively in oral and written form
  • Transport clients to agency, community appointments and/or shopping
  • Regularly review house rules with clients
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Facilitate fire drills, emergency procedures, and safety strategies as scheduled
  • Report all concerns to House Supervisor
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required
  • Understand and carry out verbal and oral instruction
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Report to shift as scheduled and follow call out procedure when necessary
  • Report any facility and/or van issues to House Supervisor and Facility Manager
  • Complete all other duties and task as assigned by Leadership
