Position Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Manager, Accounting

Job Summary: The Accounting Clerk will support the Accounting Department by performing various clerical tasks, including processing transactions such as issuing invoices, processing credit memos, new payments, customer information, updating financial records, and preparing reports. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, has excellent communications skills, and is proficient in basic accounting practices and principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Entry and Record-Keeping:

    • Enter financial transactions into accounting software.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

    • Process invoices, verify their accuracy, and ensure timely payments.
    • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.

Bank Reconciliation:

    • Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
    • Monitor and maintain cash balances.

Financial Reporting:

    • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
    • Generate financial reports and summaries as required.

Support Audits:

    • Assist with internal and external audits.
    • Provide necessary documentation and support to auditors.

Administrative Tasks:

    • Answer and direct phone calls and emails related to the Accounting Department.
    • Maintain filing systems and ensure proper documentation.

Other Duties:

    • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager, Accounting.


Qualifications:

        • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
        • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in an Accounting or Clerical role.
        • Skills:
          • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
          • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
          • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
          • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
          • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
          • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
