The Dahill Group is thrilled to be working with our client, a well-established and highly respected construction company, in search of an outstanding Estimator.The Estimator will play a pivotal role for our client, responsible for preparing accurate and detailed takeoffs for projects. This role demands precision, a thorough understanding of Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) codes, and expertise in data analysis to optimize cost-effectiveness and bid competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities:


Accurate Takeoffs and CSI Code Familiarity:


Conduct precise takeoffs and quantify materials, labor, and time requirements. Ensure estimates are organized according to CSI codes to enhance clarity and compliance.


Vendor Pricing Collection and Negotiation:


Gather and scrutinize vendor pricing, negotiating to secure the best possible terms without compromising quality. Regularly update and maintain pricing databases to reflect current market conditions.


Data Management and Analysis:


Maintain accurate records of historical pricing and bid outcomes. Use this data to inform future estimates and improve bidding strategies.

Track market trends impacting material and labor costs, incorporating this insight into project forecasts.


Bid Preparation and Cost Unitization:


Prepare detailed bid proposals, breaking down costs by unit as required, ensuring all financial data is precise and verifiable.

Collaborate closely with project teams to compile bid documents, ensuring submissions are timely and organized according to industry standards

Job Requirements:


Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Significant experience as an estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on detailed cost analysis and bid preparation.

In-depth knowledge of CSI coding and experience with unitizing project costs.

Proficiency in estimating software and advanced data analysis tools.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and superior negotiation abilities.

A ROCK-SOLID ethical foundation and a commitment to integrity in all business dealings.

Salary and Benefits:


Salary Range: $110K-$130K

Location: Richmond, CA at first to work with PMs at our clients yard/warehouse/office. The position may migrate to our clients Petaluma office in future. No remote work at this time.
