Reporting to the Lead Service Advisor, the Field Services Technician will perform service and maintenance work on robotic systems in the heavy metals and wood industries that incorporate paint marking, labelling, wrapping, cardboard application, welding, debanding, dunnage placement, and others. Much of the service work will be required on site at various mill locations including SC, AR, TN, WV, AL, KY, OH, and IN.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Perform scheduled service work and maintenance as required.

· Respond to emergency breakdown situations.

· Work with Systems Engineers to provide installation and support/monitoring of new systems

· Efficiently troubleshoot issues

· Provide training to customers on-site

· Provide phone support while not on the road

· Actively promote service and parts sales with customers

· May be required to provide Project Management oversight during larger installations.

· Provide assembly assistance during system builds at the customer’s site throughout the USA

· Perform work in an efficient manner and provide records of work completed.

Qualifications & Experience

· College or university degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent

· 5+ years’ experience in industrial automation

· Millwright certification or experience preferred.

· Robotic programming and troubleshooting experience. ABB preference.

· PLC, and HMI programming experience with AB, Siemens, and Beckhoff platforms.

· Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience

· Home-based position, therefore the individual will require solid self-management skills

· Motivated self-starter

· Typing skills, Microsoft Office and some knowledge of MRP System necessary

· Strong communication skills; excellent remote communication abilities
