The Instrument/Electrical Technician provides support for the repair, installation, and calibration of instrumentation and electrical equipment and for other activities within the Maintenance Department.

Instrument / Electrical Technician Responsibilities:

  • Assist in installation of conduit and wiring
  • Assist in repair and maintenance of steam systems
  • Assist in installation and repair of electric heat tracing
  • Assist in installation and maintenance of instrument tubing
  • Inspects and tests electrical systems including transformers, transfer switches, motors, and switchgears.
  • Assist in performance of preventive maintenance on all instrument and electrical related equipment
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repair of control valves, regulators, heater control panels, motor controls, transmitters, and other IEC related equipment
  • Always keep safe work habits as the highest priority
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized workspace at all times
  • Strive to develop good working relationships with all co-workers, contractors, and associates.

Instrument / Electrical Technician Qualifications:

  • One year of experience with electrical installation, maintenance, and repair of single and phase 3 electrical systems and equipment in an industrial setting.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, modifying, troubleshooting, and repairing all types of electrical equipment and instrumentation in compliance with current National Electrical Code.
  • Ability to use wiring diagrams, drawings, and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
  • Experience with microprocessor controllers, analyzers, programmable logic controllers and combustion controllers.
  • Experience with calibration of instrumentation is desired.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs is beneficial.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license must be maintained
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Computer proficiency
