Job Summary:
We are seeking a mechanic to join our growing team. The mechanic will be responsible for performing their job duties in a safe and professional manner.

Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a pre-employment drug screening. The mechanic will be responsible to get to various job sites throughout Columbus market, and occasional travel to the Lebanon Ohio area.

Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
  • Work in a safe manner following all rules and regulations.
  • Efficiently perform machinery maintenance and repairs in the field and or shop. Majority of the Fleet is John Deere
    • Home office is in Lebanon, OH.
    • Field consists of Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus areas
  • Efficiently troubleshoot problems using technical databases and resources.
  • Communicate with manufacturers using phone and computer programs.
  • Fully and accurately document work descriptions and all necessary information by way of writing on paper and/or typing it into a computer.
  • Navigate electronic service manual, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and parts catalog.
  • Notice field urgency and react accordingly to their needs.
  • Fully follow the dealership and manufacturer service guidelines.
  • Manage and order parts from dealers and vendors for necessary repairs and maintenance
  • Maintain neat and clean work area and truck
  • Complete set of tools to be able to perform all task associated with heavy equipment.
  • Ability to operate heavy earth moving equipment for positioning and testing.
  • Submit to and successfully complete a background check, pre-employment drug test and DOT physical.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing hydraulics and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of diagnosing and repairing diesel engines
  • Welding skills
  • Must have a high level of self-motivation and fully demonstrate you have the ability and willingness to lead and succeed in this industry.
  • The use of proper safety equipment to perform all tasks required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • While performing the required maintenance and repairs that come with this job you will be regularly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, climb and balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, repetitive bending and repetitive lifting. This includes crawling under, on and around machinery to access repair locations.
  • You must be able to work in cold or hot, wet, or dry, loud, and sometimes dusty and muddy conditions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Diesel mechanic schooling / training.
  • Proven history of heavy equipment experience
  • High school or equivalent education
  • Valid Driver’s license with CDL B (CDLA preferred, but not required)
  • Hydraulic and electrical diagnostic
  • Self-Motivated
  • Self sufficient
  • Good communicator
  • Plan daily tasks and accomplish in a timely fashion
  • Computer skills
  • Subject to pre-employment drug test and MVR
  • Ability to follow instruction
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and policies
  • Must be able to meet physical demands of the position; ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Excellent vision or the use of prescription lenses
  • Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time in unfavorable weather conditions
