Under the direct supervision of the company CEO, this position oversees all aspects of the operations, facilities, staff, learn-to-swim programs, and recreation programs at Premier Swim Academy - Diamond Bar. Responsibilities include but are not limited to direct supervision of the facility leadership team (Assistant General Manager, Office Manager, and Facilities/Maintenance Manager), oversight of daily swim instructor staffing and evaluations, assistance with deck management and instructors, oversight of the recreation mentorship team, and all other aspects of programming, on-site, at PSA. The General Manager is responsible for ensuring that all facets of the programs and facilities are operating at peak performance levels to support demand for participation.

In addition to daily operations, the General Manager position is responsible for basic HR functions, financial reporting, financial and program goal setting and achievement, and a strong working relationship between Premiers home office team (HR, finance, marketing) to ensure program success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Programs

  • Assists in oversight of programming and staffing of the PSA location ensuring a safe and properly maintained program. 
  • Directoversight of all pool deck operations and all programs operating within it 
  • Works closely with Recreational and Administrative staff to ensure daily needs are met and shifts are staffed appropriately.
  • Works with the Training Director/Manager to ensure proper onboarding, training and program coverage is maintained.
  • Assists in the oversight of class and staff schedules; works with Administrative Managers and Training Directors when new hires are needed & current staff departs.
  • Assists in staff evaluations and coordinating meeting times for all staff
  • Reads and responds accordingly to daily site notes in a timely manner; follow up on any issues or concerns.
  • Communicate program goals and curriculum with families.
  • Teaches classes as needed to keep up with demand
  • Availability to assist at other Premier locations, pending daily/weekly need.

Administrative 

· Swiftly and effectively resolves problems or disputes involving customers and/or employees

· Comprehensive understanding of class registration software to effectively manage classes and family accounts, and assist PSA team members; escalates class registration or family account issues to PSA Systems when appropriate.

· Assists in the oversight of staff schedules through scheduling system, ensuring adequate breaks, subs, and coverage.

· Assists in creating, inputting, and managing staffing schedules including change of seasons, replacements, and subbing assuring all instructor shifts are staffed.

· Assists in running KPI’s and sets up evaluations with instructors as necessary.

· Facilitate weekly leadership team meetings.

· Guide the entire staff to reach their full potential.

· Do whatever is necessary to ensure program success.

Facility

· Confirms location has adequate swim equipment, teaching supplies, and requirements for teaching excellent swim lessons. 

· Oversee the useful lifespan of all equipment and furniture, including replacement schedules for all equipment. 

· Maintain swim lesson equipment

· Work directly with on-site maintenance staff for the upkeep of the pool deck, equipment, and pump room operations

· Assist in facilitating all water testing.

· Assist in equipment management for dry programs.

· Directly responsible for ensuring facility and all equipment are well maintained and operating properly.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

· Full-time availability

· Prior management experience, preferably in the swim or youth sports industry

· Be able to obtain a StarGuard Elite Lifeguard Certification

· Outgoing, detail-oriented, flexible in fast-paced environments, and reliable

· Great time management

· Reliable transportation

· Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8 hours

Preferred

· Three or more years of Managerial experience

· Three or more years of customer service experience

· Current StarGuard Elite Lifeguard Certification
