Summit Malibu is looking for an LMFT or LCSW for our substance abuse program in Malibu.


Primary responsibilities include:

  • Knowledge of drug and alcohol dependency, mental health, family systems and 12 step/recovery resources in the community
  • Maintain appropriate documentation as required
  • Conduct assessments of clients at the time of admission and re-assessments as required
  • Conduct mental status examinations
  • Provide appropriate diagnoses and treatment recommendations based on a review of the client’s history, signs, and symptoms
  • Provide individual, couple/family, and group psychotherapy as needed
  • Ability to demonstrate respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities of clients and staff
  • Crises intervention services, including 5150 determinations
  • Treatment Planning
  • Participation in Case Conference Reviews
  • Knowledge of current legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting requirements, professional boundaries, and related issues
  • Knowledge of the philosophy and approach of the 12-step model of recovery (AA, CA, NA, Alanon)

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, can establish a good rapport with clients, is able to set boundaries and challenge their clients and is a team player.
