The Technical Writer will create technical documentation, including standard operation procedures, user documentation, how-to guides, integration guides, computer systems operation guides, and product specifications. They work with other technical experts, such as engineers and software developers, to ensure that the information they provide is accurate, well formatted, and easy to understand.Objectives of this role Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards Gain deep understanding of products and services, and translate complex information into simple, polished, engaging content Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of target audience, turning insights into language for user success Evaluate current content and ensure it is up to dateResponsibilities Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation Work with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise, edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice across all documentation Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure, and form documentation Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team
