Deputy Sheriff Level II

The following is the job description summary for the position of Deputy Sheriff for the Pickens Sheriff's Office. YOU MUST BE P.O.S.T CERTIFIED BEFORE APPLYING.

General law enforcement work is responsible for protecting life and property within Pickens County; enforcing traffic regulations, state laws, and county ordinances; responding to emergencies, citizen requests for assistance, and alarms; and conducting investigations in response to reported or discovered criminal activity. A superior officer reviews work assignments and gives specific instructions and assistance when guidance or backup is needed. Work requires independent judgment and discretion in difficult or unusual situations. Work involves personal danger.

Salary: $55,453.00 + incentive pay for additional and advanced education and certifications. Holiday pay, Night shift differential pay, Longevity pay with our agency is an additional $0.50 an hour at 3 years, 5, years, 10 years, 15 years, and 20 years.
