JOB DESCRIPTION

Griffon Aerospace, a leader in the exciting Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) industry, is seeking a talented Avionics Technician/Aircraft Electrician to fabricate, test, and support the operation of UASs and other aerospace based products. This position interfaces with Griffon Manufacturing, Engineering, Flight Test and UAS Flight Operations Staff. The growing Madison, AL-based small business is seeking innovative individuals who want to join an up tempo, maker culture that proudly provides products and services to support the American Warfighter

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Read and understand technical drawings, datasheets, and work instructions
  • Use of DMM, dc power supplies and battery chargers for setup and testing
  • Use electronic, hand, power, and pneumatic tools
  • Soldering of circuit and harness assemblies
  • Modification and fabrication of electrical harnesses, RF cables and assemblies
  • Installation avionics modules, harnesses and RF cables into UAV airframes
  • Installation, testing and troubleshooting of combustion engine and fuel system installations
  • Setup equipment for outdoor testing for systems operation and test data collection
  • Keep organized and maintain all work related tools, test equipment, fixtures, etc.
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis to remote testing ranges
  • High School Graduate
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs often and work standing up for a full 8hr shift

DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Training & knowledge of UAV, UAS and/or FAA aviation avionics electronics and standard fabrication practices
  • Testing and troubleshooting of airframe harness and electronic assemblies
  • Setup and testing of heavy fuel engine systems
  • Repair and calibration of avionics modules according to specifications
  • Experience with LAN data cables and RF communication coax fabrication and antenna installation
  • Write procedures, update BOMs and other related documentation
  • Computer communication skills in Outlook, Word, Excel CAD/CAM
  • Applicable technical degree or equivalent military experience
