POSITION MISSION: This position exposes an individual to actuarial work by collaborating with the team to provide analysis for the organization related to key areas around pricing, reserving or other analytical specialties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gather data and update assumptions for product monitoring and pricing changes.
  • Apply actuarial techniques to insure the premium and reserves are adequate.
  • Communicate pricing strategy, performance, and risk monitoring.
  • Research and report useful information on competitor products, pricing, and activities.
  • Work within the actuarial team to provide reports and analysis on various programs.

STUDENT OUTCOMES:

  • Receive training on programming languages and business intelligence tools used within the actuarial team.
  • Receive training on insurance metrics and their importance for the success of the company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate student pursing a quantitative major preferred.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and organizational skills.
  • Genuine interest in an actuarial or insurance career.
  • Advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Familiarity with SQL or other programming languages is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
